“A mother is the truest friend we have. When trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” -Washington Irving
Two years gone by and everyday a group of young men and women wake up each day to change their world. It doesn’t pay or look as half as fabulous as the guys in suits or the Mercedes on high street. To continuously strive for that which we pursue, we have our mothers to hold us down and to comfort us with the knowledge that a bridge that carries a generation, cannot be built in a day.
To the mothers of H.T.W and the mothers all over the world harboring their 20 something year old dream chasers, we say thank you for being there and a very Happy Mother’s Day.

The Tiki Movement started with a few level 200 students of the University of Ghana meeting every night just to chill out and lay off the stress. In May 2011, they decided to put funds together to organize a drink up in honour of their May born members. Surprised by the success of the drink up and the apparent demand they had discovered, they decided to do another event on a much bigger scale. They threw the first official Tiki party dubbed “The Tiki Way”, introducing officially a new brand in the domain of tertiary events organization. They have since gone ahead to organize several parties and events successfully.
Team Tiki is currently an Events organization and management company comprising of 13 members. It is the first registered tertiary events management company in Ghana and are focused on giving quality entertainment to the youth in tertiary institutions. They pride themselves on quality and creativity. As young entrepreneurs, Team Tiki has been able to find that fine balance between business and pleasure by doing what they love doing best and turning it into a profitable venture. Their guiding principle in life is to identify what you are good at and love doing and to make the most out of it with all dedication and seriousness.
Since its establishment in 2011, Tiki has successfully organized events such as 3G, Tower Heist, Artiste Night (Pent Hall Week), Carpe Diem, The Antenna Beach Party, amongst others, each with over 1000 patrons. Tiki also has a give back policy, and have donated part of the proceeds from 3G to the Frafraha Orphanage, donated foodstuffs to the cleaning staff at the Pent Hall after Tower Heist.
They believe in true entrepreneurial spirit of changing society through ethical business and this has been one of the underlining principles of Team Tiki. Their goal is to reinvent entertainment and event organization in Ghana by making this a platform for social change. HTW recognizes the relevance of their dreams and by our collaboration, we seek to incite the conscience of today’s youth to think, create and reinvent their society through meaningful enterprise.

We looked around and thought of how much we wanted change. Change in our economy, change in our mindset, change in our pockets; but the big question is where do we start? So we picked the young and the brighest, those in whom investments have already been made. 13 of them and growing bigger; they came to the university to seek the tools to create their future but even through the all nighters and the tests, they started to be their future.
Heel The World began from the need to empower, a need to show the fresh new Africa, where young people chase their dreams and not just jobs. These young guys are a glimpse into the future; event planners, business owners, philanthropists and first class students, HTW is glad to present The Team Tiki and in a series of events that will be announced soon on our social media, we are seeking to empower our universities and youth to dream beyond a 9-5 and to think of themselves as the cornerstone in building the Africa we all want.
